FRHI’s 125 Hotel Properties are using Beekeeper’s cloud-based mobile messaging solution to engage employees
Beekeeper's collaboration with FRHI Hotels & Resorts (FRHI) has resulted in the hotel winning an Employee Engagement Award on June 17th. Beekeeper worked with FRHI to connect over 50,000 employees from 125 hotels globally by developing FRHI Talk, a mobile communications solution which significantly improves internal communication and engagement between FRHI staff.

Needless to say, this is an online community that has been growing, and I think will continue to exceed our expectations moving forward.”
As a result of a merger of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Raffles Hotels & Resorts and Swissôtel Hotels & Resorts, FRHI colleagues across the globe had little to no knowledge of their parent company. In response, FRHI partnered with Beekeeper to develop FRHI Talk, their online and mobile communications platform open to all colleagues.
Since implementing the Beekeeper platform the communication department has significantly improved its efficiency. The click-through rates in FRHI’s communications campaigns are above 30 percent and colleagues are now more up-to-date on recent developments. In 2014, 86 percent of FRHI employees said that they are satisfied with the information about what is going on within FRHI.
“Every day, our colleagues share celebrations, stories of excellence, every-day work experiences, and community involvement. We’ve noted that friendly competition between hotels often takes place and employees now see what their sister hotels and regional offices are doing, something that they were not privy to before,” Alexandra Zeifman Project Manager at the internal communications team explains.
As of April, 2015 98 percent of FRHI’s workforce with an active email have adopted FRHI Talk. All hotels have at least 25 percent of their colleagues as users, with surprisingly high rates in the Middle East, South-East Asia and Africa properties where social media usage is generally lower than in North America. In the Americas region, an average of 27 percent of hotel colleagues use FRHI Talk, in Asia Pacific 26 percent, Europe 45 percent and in the Middle East, Africa & India region 35 percent.
